LUGOFF – A celebration of life service for Debra Parrish “Debbie” Lunn, 56, will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Camden. Rev. Bruce Hancock and Rev. Brent Kendal will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship center. On September 5th, 2010 at 6:37 PM and after a 3.5 year battle with ovarian cancer, Debra went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity. She was a devout Christian, who spent much time studying the Bible and praying. Her favorite bible verse was Deuteronomy 6:5: "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength." She sincerely believed that at death, the physical body returns to dust, and the soul of the believer is welcomed into heaven to be with the LORD forever and ever. She also cherished what the Bible states in 2 Peter 3:9: “The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. “Debbie” was an extremely faithful and loving wife for the entire 39 years she and Tony were bonded together. No individual could have ever expected a more loving spouse. Debbie also loved her two daughters dearly. She is already sorely missed, and because of our belief in God’s word, we have confidence we will see her again. Born on January 13, 1954 in Camden, she was the daughter of Thomas Earl and Joyce Mize Parrish. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and being outdoors. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Tony Vernon Lunn; her parents of Lugoff; daughters, Sandra Dee “Sandy” Lunn of Columbia, and Sally Renee Lunn of Atlanta, Ga.; and brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Janice Parrish of Mt. Airy, N.C. The family would like to thank everyone at South Carolina Oncology Associates for their help and loving kindness during the past 3.5 years. We would especially like to thank Dr. James Williams, Dr. Terrell Smith, Dr. William Merritt and Debbie’s two loving chemo nurses: Kathy and Mary. We also want to thank our dear and beloved hospice nurse, Kim Eaker, who was a true blessing from God during Deb’s final days.
