Obituary of Wanda Reynolds Epling
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Wanda Lynn Reynolds Epling, 62, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Ridgeway Ward, with burial to follow in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice.
Mrs. Epling died Saturday, October 2, 2010. Born in Winnsboro on April 20, 1948, she was the eldest daughter of the late Carl Langford and Alethia Delores Branham Reynolds. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 62 years. She held numerous leadership positions within the church including: Relief Society president, Sunday School teacher, Seminary teacher, Musical Director and pianist, and youth volunteer. She enjoyed antiques, vintage jewelry and vintage jewelry shows and was also a professional appraiser. Throughout her life, Wanda made countless cherished friendships.
Wanda began her working career at Skyline Manufacture in Camden. She also worked for the Kershaw County Magistrate, and was a Kershaw County School substitute teacher, and hospice volunteer. Wanda’s most treasured calling was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother and helping those in need.
Surviving are her loving husband whom she married on October 9, 1964, Howard J. Epling, Sr.; son, Howard Jackson Epling II (Tonia Brown) of Lugoff; daughters, Regina Lynn Epling Grainger (Sean) of Franklinton, N.C., Susan Denise Epling Skenteris (Nick) of Greenville, Olivia Marie Epling Roberts (Bryan) of Charlotte, N.C., and Sandra Jane Epling Bridges (Jonathan) of Clemson; grandchildren, Madelyn Sue Grainger, Meredith Sean Grainger, Miriam Alethia Grainger, Sophia Pearl Skenteris, Basil Nickolaos and Viviane Langford Skenteris (twins), Ryan Jackson Epling, Joseph Andrew Logan Epling, Amelia Marie Roberts, Whitney Lynn Elise Epling, Hunter Allen Bridges, Emma Marie Bridges, James Reid Bridges, and twin granddaughters expected in January 2011; brothers, Carl Langford Reynolds Jr. (Junko) of Lugoff, and Rick Reynolds (Ann) of Lugoff; and sisters, Sandra Reynolds Dove (Jerry) of Lugoff, and Judy Delores Reynolds Hall (Ward) of Lugoff. She was predeceased by twin son and daughter, Glen Allen Epling and Gwen Andrea Epling.
