LUGOFF – Funeral service for Phyllis Honeycutt Medlin, 52, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Camden Ward. Interment will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Elliott Cemetery, Polkville, N.C. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265. Mrs. Medlin died Saturday, January 1, 2011. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she was a daughter of Elizabeth Ann Elliott Honeycutt and the late Harold Reese Honeycutt, Jr. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Gardner Webb University, Boiling Springs, N.C. She was formerly employed with the Social Security Administration. Mrs. Medlin was a Master Gardener and formerly owned Fourth Day Farms. She served as BSA Webelos Den Leader for Pack 348 and was on the District Training Staff. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Camden Ward. She was a devoted mother, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Wayne C. Medlin; mother, Elizabeth Honeycutt of Bowling Green, Ky.; children, David Prater of Bowling Green, Ky, Christine Prater Smith (Thomas) of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Gabriel Hyrum Medlin of Lugoff, and Rebekah Elizabeth Medlin of Lugoff; sisters, Charlotte McLain (Charlie) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Laura Vick (Steve) Paducah, Ky., Christine Hanshaw (Bill) of Bowling Green, Ky., and Emily Logsdon of Bowling Green, Ky.; grandchildren, Cevin James Prater, Emma Elizabeth Smith, and Gavyn Thomas Smith; and 4 nieces and nephews.
