LUGOFF – Funeral service for Louise Spires Brazell, 78, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Alpine Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Rick Kirchinger will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Brazell, wife of the late Harvey Brazell, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late David Oscar “D.O.” Spires and Susie Estridge Jordan Gregg. She retired from Farmers Home Administration and was a member of Alpine Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her dog, “Scooby”. Surviving are her daughters, Mary “Kay” Chavis (Mike) of Cayce, and Betty Ann Brazell of West Columbia; son, Charles E. “Chuck” Brazell (Nancy) of Lugoff; stepson, Frank Davis (Jo) of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl Faye Curado. Memorials may be made to Alpine Baptist Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
