Dear Lynette: We just received the terrible news of Sonny's death and are still in shock, as I know your family must be. We had such a wonderful time during the 50th anniversary and enjoyed so sitting with you two and catching up. Anne and I also remember so fondly our extended telephone conversations with Sonny during the days prior to the anniversary celebration.
He seemed in such good spirits and so happy during the time in Spartanburg and everyone noted how lwell he looked and how he was one who could still be easily recognizred, after the 54 years since our Wofford time.
He was such a kind person and I shall remember for as long as i live the year in Snyder Hall, as freshmen, when we were in close proximity and shared so many laughs. He was a special friend.
Please know that we would have made the funeral services had we known in time.
You are in our thoughts and our hearts as you face the days ahead. We shall be in touch.
With love, Anne and Cermette

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Sonny's death this morning. I knew him when we were both state government public information directors. Our paths crossed again when I joined the electric co-op family. He was always so kind to me with the most positive attitude I've seen. He will be missed. His family is in my prayers.

Lynette, Although in recent years we didn't spend a lot of time together, you and Sonny were like family. From the time we interned together at the FLORENCE MORNINS NEWS during college days, our careers took many of the same paths and everytime we met up, it was like old times.
My sincere feelsings are with you and your family, and while I know you are saddened by his passing, I know also that you will celebrate his wonderful life.
I join with you in that celebration.
