KERSHAW – A Celebration of Life Service for Billy Dale Helms, 51, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church. Rev. Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mr. Helms died Sunday, May 29, 2011. Born in Concord, N.C., he was a son of the late Amos and Josie Mason Helms. He was a member of House of Prayer with Open Arms Church where he was a pianist. He was a musician and enjoyed singing and supporting schools sports. Surviving are his wife, Nicole Denkins Helms; daughter, Melinda McCrery; step-children, Mason Gomez, Christian Gomez, and Austen Lewis; brothers, Ronnie Helms, Terry Helms, Rocky Helms, and Tracey Helms; sisters, Tammy Kearnes, Maxine Coley, and Nokie Helms; and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Tommy Helms and Danny Helms.
