CAMDEN – Graveside service for John McCrady Shiver, 83, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Rembert. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001. Mr. Shiver died Sunday, June 30, 2013. Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late John L. and Pearl Robinson Shiver. He was Farmer and retired from the State of South Carolina where he managed the farms for the correctional institutes. He was a talented craftsman. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are his sons, Sherrill Williams (Molly) of Camden and Rodger Williams (Cathy) of Camden; sister, Kitty Strickland; grandchildren, Cristy Goodwein (Justin), Carrie Denton (Scott), and Jaquie Buckelew (Sammy); and great-grandchildren, Logan, Caleigh, Campbell, Carsen, Lynsey, Sam, Trey, and Ryann Elizabeth. He was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Williams; and sisters, Lillian Chapell and Margie Tillman.
