LUGOFF – A celebration of life service for Glennie P. Puckett, 82, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Leonhardt and Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John UMC Building Fund, P.O. Box 218, Lugoff, SC 29078. Mrs. Puckett, wife of the late Douglas Puckett, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013. Born in Union County, she was a daughter of the late James Lee and Alma Mitchell Ashe. Mrs. Puckett was a member of St. John’s UMC. She loved her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, Jimmy Painter, Doug Puckett; daughters, Janice Finch (John Jr.), Sherry Coats; a sister, Opal Sanders; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; a grandchild; and siblings, Vivian Putnam, Thurmond Ashe, Ethel Trantham, LeRoy Ashe, Otis Ashe, Janie Sims, J.B. Ashe, C.W. “Pete” Ashe.
