LUGOFF – Funeral service for Carey Rick Brown, 55, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter. Mr. Brown died Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Born in Bishopville, he was a son of the late Carey Edward and Elizabeth Miller Brown. He retired from DuPont after 28 years and was currently working for South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Sharon H. Brown; son, Travis Kyle Brown of Lugoff; daughter, Telesa Kari Brown Of Lugoff; brother, Timothy Lesley Brown (Judy) of Lugoff; sister, Sharon “Tootie” Brown of Pa.; brother-in-law, Charles Anthony Hudson; and a niece and 5 nephews.
