Obituary of James Edward Trivett
CAMDEN – Funeral services for James Edward Trivett Sr., 78, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia. The Rev. Homer Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Trivett died Tuesday, August 15, 2011. Born in Johnson City, Tenn., he was the son of the late Gurny and Elizabeth Fair Trivett. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a Mason and Shriner, and a member of the American Legion Post 17 and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed wood working. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille Jones Trivett; sons, James Trivett Jr. (Rita) of Camden, Billy Trivett (Sandy) of Summerville; daughter, Linda Bowen (Mike) of Camden; 6 grandchildren, Tessa Dority, Brennen Dority Edwards, Lisa Trivett Geddings, Ashley Trivett, Tiffany Trivett, and Scotty Oliver; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Kelly of Johnson City, Tenn. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Trivett; and sisters, Juanita Taylor, Florrine Baker, and Frances Trivett.
