CAMDEN – A celebration of Life service for Carol Sue Bennett, 72, will be held on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Joe Stines and the Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to El-Bethel Faith Community Church Building Fund. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of David and Sally Leila Hinson Cassady. She retired from Lugoff Textile and attended El-Bethel Faith Community Church. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. Surviving are her husband, Wallace Raymond “Ray” Bennett; daughters, Carol Batina Davis of Portland, Ore., Lori Lynn Hanlon of Columbia, Brenda Lee Pleasant of Natchitoches, La., Kimberly Dawn Sturkie of Rock Hill, and Richard Wayne Bennett of Kansas City, Kan.; brother, Gene Cassady of Lugoff; sister, Patricia L. Cassady of Lugoff; and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard Cassady, Jimmy Cassady, and Lawson Cassady; and sister, Elizabeth Gardner.
