Harriette - I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was so fortunate to have a wonderful daughter like you. I know it has been hard, but we all are so lucky to have known him. He seemed to be so sweet and caring. I will forever remember him in the Kimono he wore at the get together at your house, and it brings a smile to my face. Thank you so much for sharing him with all of us.

When we lived in Lugoff it was always a treat to go to Mr. Josey's nursery and along with getting new "goodie" plants, have our children see his strange chickens and animals. Moving to N.C., some of Mr. Josey's "goodie" plants came with us. May his children be blessed by their memories.

So sorry to read of the death of Mr. Josey. Death only brings about pain and sorrow. It is called an enemy. There was a time when I wondered if God calls our loved ones to heaven with him and Jesus, then why does he at the same time call death an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26). Until I came to understand why we die in the first place, this is why God calls death an enemy. We are comforted by the beautiful and loving hope of the resurrection. A promise from our creator and his son Christ Jesus. Acts 24:15 "There is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous." I hope this brings true comfort.

I just met Uncle El at Kim's wedding in Oct., 2010. I am so glad I met him! I regret not getting to know him more. He impressed me greatly! He told me that my third child, second son, Timothy (7) had a strong resemblance to my daddy at that age! I love plants! I believe he could have told me a lot! It was really precious for me to have met him. I will miss not knowing him more. I'm sure his war stories were a great conversation and educational, too! I'm sorry for your great loss.
