CAMDEN – A Celebration Gathering for Donald Lee Ray, 65, will be held Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Ray died Friday, September 16, 2011. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Murdoch and Louise Ray. He served in the United States Marine Corp and had a long career in construction. Surviving are his wife, Connie Jean Bowers Ray; son, Donald Lee Ray, Jr. of Camden; step-sons, Eddie Hornsby (Brandee) of Camden, Bryan Hornsby (Tiffany) of Lugoff, and John T. Hornsby of Camden; grandchildren, Kasie Hornsby, Stefanie Hornsby, Baylee Hornsby, Reese Hornsby, Alex Hornsby, Taylor Thompson, and Tucker Hornsby; great-granddaughter, Claire Quarles; his best friend, Copper; and a sister, Peggy Shannon of Lugoff. He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Ray.
