KERSHAW – Funeral service for Rev. James Crawford Snipes, 79, will be held Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Kershaw Church of God with burial to follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Kershaw Church of God. Rev. Snipes died Thursday, October 6, 2011. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late Yancey and Ellen Railey Snipes. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Lou Ellis Snipes; daughters, Wanda S. Brooks (Tommy) of Heath Springs, Carla Douglas (Stoney) of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Sheila S. McGuire (Glen) of Kershaw; son, James Howard Snipes (Andrea) of Spartanburg; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
