LUGOFF – Funeral service for Clara Smith Morgan, 90, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Greg Sweet and the Rev. Eric Wooten will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Morgan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Born on July 22, 1922 in Wilson, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William and Della Smith. She worked as a Tower Operator with the South Carolina Forestry Commission. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed traveling and camping with the Wateree Wanderers. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, Braves Baseball, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her husband of 71 years, Woodfin O. Morgan; sons, Jerry Morgan (Pat) of Bradenton, Fla. and Donald Morgan (Gloria) of Ridgeway; daughter, Gail Clements (Russell) of Lugoff and Diane Peters (Tommy) of Lugoff; sister, Mary Kinlaw; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Smith; granddaughter, Hope Morgan; and great-granddaughter, Bethany Faith Wooten.
