HOPKINS – A celebration of life service for Deborah Modena “Debbie” Horton, 60, will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Bruce Marthers will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Horton passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Harold Thomas and Juanita Altman Weed. Ms. Horton attended First Assembly of God, and enjoyed taking care of her beloved cats. Surviving are her brothers, Harold Thomas Weed, Jr. (Crystal) of Lexington, Edward Gary Weed (Kay Nesbit) of Gilbert; sister, Juanita “Bunny” Frye of Hopkins; nephew, Brandon Weed; nieces, Amber Weed, Diana McLaughlin, Hope Weed, Amanda Kirby; great nephews, Dennis Kirby II, Matthew Kirby; great nieces, Heather Kirby and Brianna McLaughlin; and special friends, Lois Martin, Cathy Pindar, and Jimmy Horton. Thank you Debbie for being so special to everyone, you will be greatly missed.
