ELGIN - Funeral services for Geraldine H. Bateman, 76, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Blaney Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Philip Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Mrs. Bateman died Monday, April 02, 2012. Born in Jenkin Jones, W.V., she was the daughter of the late Bill and Maxie Halsey. She was a member of Blaney Baptist church and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Cornelius A. Bateman; daughter, Teresa E. Beck of St. Matthew, S.C.; sons, Roderick D. Jones (Debbie) of Portsmouth, Va., and Kerry D. Jones of Elgin; and grandchildren, Jessica Jones Healey and Lauren Renee Jones.
