CASSATT – Funeral service for Calvin Coolidge Bodiford, 84, will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Leigh and the Rev. Robbie Shivar will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International. Mr. Bodiford died Thursday, April 5, 2012. Born in Barnwell County, he was the son of the late Ansel and Jatsey Bodiford. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He was a craftsman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Bodiford; children, Rhonda Little of Gaston, Bonnie King of Gaston, Wayne Bodiford of Barnwell, and Nicky Bodiford (Terri) of Cassatt; step-children, J.L. Tidwell of Cassatt, Susan Boone (David) of Cassatt, Doug Tidwell (Teresa) of Lugoff, and Wanda Swann (Tommy) of Waxhaw, N.C.; brothers, Roy Bodiford of Barnwell, Rodell Bodiford, and James Bodiford of Mansfield, Ohio; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 16 step great-grandchildren.
