Obituary of Donald D. Gogo
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Donald Dean Gogo, 82, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Mims will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gogo died Friday, May 4, 2012. Born in Ferndale, Mich., he was a son of the late George Allen and Mary Gillespie Gogo. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Bellsouth after 30 years of service.
Mr. Gogo was a member of Sandy Grove united Methodist Church. He enjoyed drawing, artistic painting and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ophelia T. “Lia” Gogo; children, Annie Spires of Gilbert, Levon Todd of Flint, Mich., Larry Donald Gogo of Cassatt, Donna Elaine Long of Gilbert, Pam Gonzales of Vidalia, Ga., and Allison Manies of Simpsonville; brother, Norman, Allen, Don, and Jack; sisters, Jean, and Thelma; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Bob; and sisters, Betty and Marilyn.
