ELGIN – Funeral service for Lisa Stein Sturgess, 48, will be held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mrs. Sturgess died Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of Don Stein and the late Shirley Brewer Stein. She was employed with PPS and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and going to the beach and loved animals. Surviving are her husband of 25 years, Russell Z. Sturgess; father, Don Stein of Tavares, Fla.; daughters, Megan Faye Sturgess of Saluda and Amy Marie Sturgess of Elgin; brother, Marty Stein; and sisters, Mary Stein, Donna Stein, and Kelly Smith.
