Obituary of Earl V. Tollison
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Earl Vernon Tollison, 77, will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice.
Mr. Tollison died Monday, July 23, 2012. Born in Augusta, Ga., he was a son of the late Andy Furman Tollison and Gladys Moore Tollison. He served in the United States Army and retired from the City of Camden where he served as a police officer for 25 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a former member of Wateree Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the Deacon and taught Sunday School.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ruby Gardner Tollison; daughter, Pamela W. Burnham (Robert) of Simpsonville; sons, Randy L. Tollison (Tammy) of Cassatt, and David A. Tollison (Wendy) of Camden; brother, J.C. Tollison (Yvonne) of Elgin; sister, Jean Eddings (Michael) of Camden; grandchildren, Misty Mathis (Eddie), Christy Holder (Mark), Angie Clyburn, Brandy Tollison, Lauren Tollison, Drew Tollison, and Tyler Tollison; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Clyburn, Rylee Mathis, Jake Mathis, Abbigail Holder, Joe Holder, and Brooklyn Grace Stafford. He was predeceased by brothers, Jack Snyder and Bobby Snyder; and sisters, Frances Snyder Atkinson and Doris Catoe.
