Obituary of Thomas L. Blair
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Thomas Lindler “Buck” Blair, 84, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Suber Marshall Memorial Methodist Church.
Mr. Blair died Sunday, July 29, 2012. Born in Newberry County, he was a son of the late George Cupid and Frances Nancy Hamm Blair. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Suber Marshall Memorial Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling and woodwork.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Polly B. Cassidy Blair; sons, Rand Blair (Kristi) of Grapevine, Texas, and Thomas Kenneth “Kenny” Blair (Jackie) of Elgin; daughters, Janet Brown (Rick) of Dahlonega, Ga., and Nancy Lybrand (Dudley) of Clover; sisters, Pat Aull, Edna Hancock, and Doris Cromer (Thomas); brother-in-law, Jack Bozard; sister-in-law, Margaret Blair; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Harrison Blair, Eugene Blair, and Paul Blair; and sisters, Mary Long, Frances Blair, and Faye Bozard.
The family expresses great appreciation to the staff of Heartstrings Hospice for their loving care.
