COLUMBIA – Funeral service for Geraldine Camp Harvey, 96, will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff with burial to follow in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery, Elgin. The Rev. David Brannen, the Rev. Phillip Blankenship and the Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or Blaney Baptist Church. Mrs. Harvey, wife of the late Rev. Furman T. Harvey died Friday, August 16, 2013. Born in Blacksburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Basil Augustus and Hardina Allison Camp. She was very active in supporting her husband’s ministry. She was a member of Blaney Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sewing. Surviving are her daughters, Dorothy Mainer of Morganton, N.C. and Betty Harvey of Columbia; sister, Minnie Rippy of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Travis Mainer of Atlanta, Terry Mainer of Columbia and James Mainer of Decatur, Ga; and 4 nieces and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth C. Rippy; and nephew, James Rippy. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Columbia for the care and support rendered to Mrs. Harvey for the past four years.
