Obituary of Lula Mae Melton

BETHUNE – Funeral service for Lula Mae Melton, 88, will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 42, Bethune, S.C.  29009.

    Mrs. Melton, wife of the late Raymond C. Melton, passed away at KershawHealth on Sunday, November 4, 2018.  Born in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Muldrow and Nettie Morgan Steen.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Mrs. Melton loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and yard sales.

    Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Rollings and Barbara Ann Boan (Wayne); son, Roger Dale Melton; sister, Coleen Angela Drinkwater; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by sons, Henry Melton, Ronnie Lee Melton, Charles Lee Melton and Ray Melton; siblings, Alice Steen, Helen Watford, Bud Steen, Bill Steen, Marion Steen and Margee Hopper; and one great-great-grandchild.
