Obituary of Michelle Hoffman Arruda

LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Michelle Hoffman Arruda, 40, will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral home.  The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.   Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice.

    Michelle passed away at home on her birthday Monday, November 12, 2018.  Born in Hartsville, she was the daughter of Joe Hoffman and Debbie Watson Wilburn.  She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Michelle was a former volunteer firefighter with Lugoff Fire Department and achieved fire fighter of the year in 1998 and enjoyed scrapbooking and caring for animals.

    Surviving are her husband, Jason M. “Jay” Arruda; father, Joe Hoffman (Janice) of Hartsville; mother, Debbie Wilburn (Kevin) of Lugoff; son, Michael “Tripp” Metts of Lugoff; daughter, Jaylin Arruda; and siblings, Kimberly Lund (Kyle), Kelli Odom (Buddy), Patrick Wilburn and Charles Wilburn (Tara).  She was predeceased by a daughter, Kendall.
