Obituary of Jerry L. Poole

LUGOFF – A memorial service for Jerry Lee Poole, 72, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

    Mr. Poole passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.  Born in Winston Salem, N.C., he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Martha Galliher Poole.  He served in the United States Army including two and a half tours in the Vietnam War.  He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals for his valor.  He retired from Praxair where he was a truck driver.``

    Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” Williams Poole,; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Poole Brister (Ron) of Englewood, Fla., and Janet Lea Poole Cook (Shannon) of Elgin; sister, Betty Baldwin of Statesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Nacole Cook, Ashlea Elizabeth Cook and Casen Sullivan Cook; a special cousin, Phyllis Curry; and his beloved dog, “Buddy”.
