Obituary of John W. Miles

ELGIN – John Wylie Miles, Jr., 54, accepted Christ as his Savior on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 and God called him home on Thursday, December 13, 2018.

He will be greatly missed. He was the oldest son of Anna Marie Young Miles and John Wylie Miles, Sr. and the brother of Donald Ray Miles (Jessica) Lexington. He worked at Superior Lumber in the warehouse and made deliveries. He never met a stranger, and he enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing video games and loved his two honorary nieces Cassidy and Savana Mosley. He and his mother were very close and he loved being able to help out with buying candy for the church at Easter and Christmas. He helped his Aunt Jo Ann put up lights every Christmas and his nickname for her was JoJo. He and his Uncle Johnny loved playing video games together and he was always helping his Uncle Billy with whatever was needed. He was a big man and had a bigger heart and loved helping out however he could.

Surviving are his mother, Anna Marie Miles of Elgin; brother, Donald Ray Miles (Jessica); and nieces, Cassidy and Savanna.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Royal Pines Independent Holiness Church Cemetery.
