Obituary of Ella Mae Peebles

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Ella Mae Peebles, 59, Will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

    Mrs. Peebles passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, March 9, 2019.  Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mae Bell Wilson Charles.  She worked for the Board of Disabilities.

    Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Elijah Peebles; children, Stephanie Peebles, Robert Peebles, Gerald Peebles (Bethany), Tonya Peebles and Anthony Peebles; brothers, James Charles (Mattie) and Michael Charles; sisters, Janie Outten (Melvin) and Jacqueline Charles; and 13 grandchildren.  She was predeceased by sister, Elizabeth Speihts (Julius).
