Obituary of Susan Lynne Salmond

ELGIN – A funeral service for Susan Lynne Salmond, 31, formerly of Lugoff, will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

    Susan passed away on July 1, 2019.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Christopher Alan Oelze and Barbara Diane Hammond Spence.  Susan loved animals and softball.  She especially loved her grandparents, Pat, Gary and Pappy.

    Surviving are her children, Malachi Cox, Torey Salmond and Tamara Salmond; parents, Christopher and Teresa Oelze of Sumter, Barbara and Duane Spence of Lugoff, and Mark Best of Syracuse, N.Y.; and beloved brother, Thomas Oelze; and her uncle, Bryan Hammond.
