Obituary of Lois Katherine Shipton

LUGOFF – A memorial service for Lois Katherine Hardin Shipton, 84, will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice or KershawHealth Oncology.

    Mrs. Shipton, wife of the late Fred Shipton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.  Born in Blacksburg, she was the daughter of the late Lemond Andrew and E. Lois Patterson Hardin.  She was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, fishing and cooking.

    Surviving are her sons, Donald E. Shipton (Christina) and Michael W. Shipton (Lola); daughter, Kathryn “Bootsy” Branham (Sonny); sister, Lucille H. Falls; grandchildren, Kimberly Hoffman, David Shipton, Sandra Shipton and Chad Branham (Casey); 2 great-grandchildren; 6 step- great-grandchildren; and 2 step great great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by son, Fred “Kenny” Shipton;  grandson, Ron Branham; brother, Woodrow Hardin, David Hardin; sister, Ann Dover, Carolyn Mullinax and Shirley Gray.
