Obituary of Mae Shirley Kennington

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Mae Shirley Kennington, 94, will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Lugoff Church of God.  The family will receive friends 1hr prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kennington entered the kingdom of heaven on Monday, November 4, 2019 after an extensive battle with Parkinson’s.  Born November 3, 1925 in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Dannie Shirley.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wesley Robert Kennington.

Retired from Hermitage Textiles after 43 years of service is indicative of the strong work ethic and dedication she possessed. Mae was a devout member of Lugoff Church of God, faithfully serving those around her for many years.  She shared a love for her family like no other and when she was surrounded by all of her grandchildren is when she was the happiest.  The only thing that rivaled her love for her family was the unbounded love she exhibited for her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Mozingo; grandchildren, Angie Black and Doug Black (Wanda); great grandchildren, Stacey McGee (Russell), Jennifer McLeod (Brandon), Haylee Loncar (Elliot), Lauren Black, Cameron Black, Andrew Black (Shiann) and Adam Black; and 13 great-great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
