Obituary of Wanita Mae Coleman

ELGIN – A private funeral service for Wanita Mae Coleman, 78, will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Coleman passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.  Born in Springfield, IL, she was the daughter of the late Louis Edward Nave and Mary Gwendolyn Davidson Nave. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Wanita loved entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing and cooking.

Surviving are her sons, William Edward Coleman, Jr. (Susan), John Daniel Coleman (Jewel), and Donald Ray Coleman (Patti); 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Nave. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. “Mr. Bill” Coleman.
