I have very fond memories of meeting HC about 18 years ago and having him train some quail dogs for me. That was when he used to load them up and haul them out to the Dakotas for the Summer. He trained 4-5 dogs for me, and told me one had failed out of training schools! He was a good, honest man that enjoyed what he did. They turned out to be fine bird dogs indeed. I spent many days afield with the dogs and was quick to tell folks who had trained them so well. RIP, HC! Mike Finch Jr MD Columbia
