Obituary of Johnny Thomas

LUGOFF – Services for Johnny Wilbert Thomas, Sr., 78, will be private. 

    Mr. Thomas passed away at home on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.  Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Jim and Jessie Mae Johnson Gripper.  He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He retired from the City of Camden after 25 years of service and then retired from City Cab after 28 years.  MR. Thomas was member of VFW and American Legion. 

    Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Tucker Thomas; children, Johnny Wilbert Thomas, Jr., Frederica Ladete Thomas, Fredrick Wayne Thomas, and Sybilla Malona Thomas; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by brothers, Herbert and David; and sister, Ella.
