Obituary of Wila Mae Boulware
CAMDEN – A funeral service for Wila Mae Boulware, 87, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the KershawHealth Hospice.
Mrs. Boulware passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Anna Spradley Ray. Mrs. Boulware retired from Kendall Mill in Bethune. She attended Malvern Hill Baptist Church and worked at the daycare. She enjoyed reading the State Paper and watching wrestling.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Parker (Chuck Smith) of Camden; sister, Essie Taylor of Dade City, FL; daughter-in-law, Frances Cook; grandchildren, Jason Cook, Melissa Cook, 4 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Morgan Sharp and Mckenzie Sharp and numerous other great-grands; and caretaker, Lucy Varner. She was predeceased by sons, John Wayne Cook, John “Ed” Cook; and siblings, Dunnie Ray, Colie Ray, Albert Ray, Danny Ray, Rosa Lee Petticord, and Elizabeth Hutchinson.
The family extends thanks to KershawHealth Hospice and especially Rebecca Watkins.
