ELGIN – A memorial service for Thomas Franklin Joseph Watts, 73, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society. Mr. Watts passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Born in York County, he was a son of the late Thomas Heyward Watts and Alma Johnson Vinson. Mr. Watts enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are his children, Richard K. “Dickey” Watts of Elgin, Melinda Watts of Elgin; grandson, Richard L. “Ricky” Watts; and friends and former wife, Lois Katherine Luther. He was predeceased by siblings, Geraldine Mathis, William “Billy” Watts, and Junior Johnson.
