CASSATT – Funeral service for Erica Michelle Broughton, 26, will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Abney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tim Broughton and the Rev. David B. Turner will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Abney Baptist Church Building Fund, 5180 Bethune Rd, Kershaw, SC 29067 or Buffalo-Mt. Pisgah Fire Department, 5203 Mt. Pisgah Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Mrs. Broughton died Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of Joseph B. Marshall Sr. and Michelle Joyner Marshall. She was employed with the United States Postal Service. Erica was a volunteer fire fighter with Buffalo-Mt. Pisgah Fire Department. She enjoyed hunting and fishing. Erica was a proud mother who loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Abney Baptist Church where she and her husband was devoted to leading the youth program. Surviving are her husband of 3 years, Derek Allen Broughton; son, Brayden Allen Broughton; brother, B.J. Marshall (fiancée, Megan Gardner) of Bethune; maternal grandparents, Sonny and Linda Farmer; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Tim and Peggy Broughton; special aunts, Melissa, Lynn, Wendy and Amanda; and many cousins. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Joseph and Betty Marshall.
