It’s going on 3yrs now since I’ve lost you. Since then Valerie has went on to join y’all. I know you’re proud to know that your youngest nephew Chris is a county sheriff now. You inspired him when he was 5yrs old. He asked when he graduated from the police academy “ Momma do ya think uncle james is proud?” I told him he’s dang proud. Just miss ya I’m so glad y’all r together where you’re loved

I'm so thankful my family and I we finally able to go to Camden to see James. To be able to relive stories of our youth with him and his daughter Courtney. It made it a little bit easier to let him go. We know he's at peace and with his family. His biological father Romeo J. Castonguay, mom Mamie, his dad Colmore, son Cory, his nephew Paul Bergbower, sister Eulalia and 2 brother-in-laws. He was a good man and everyone benefited from knowing him. Love you always your family from Illinois

Jim was one of the most outstanding men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was kind, generous, loving, and was always fair. One of the finest deputies Kershaw County ever had. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. Dale, thought the world of Jim, and had the pleasure of working with him. He came, and spent time with my husband when he lost his father. He was a great friend to everyone he came in contact with. To his family you are all in our thoughts, and prayers. May God give you comfort, and strength during this difficult time. Much love, The Ham Family
