Obituary of Karl W. Beccue II
Lugoff- Funeral Services for Karl W. Beccue II, 71, will be held Monday at 5:30 pm at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Everett Reconnu will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marine Corp Toys For Tots or Food For The Soul.
Mr. Beccue passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 after a long illness. He was born in Lockport, NY on May 19, 1948 to the late Karl W. Beccue and Phylena Thomas Beccue. A 1966 graduate of Lockport Senior High, he joined the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was a lifetime national member of the DAV, and as a disabled vet, was most proud of being a Marine the rest of his life. Karl worked as an inspector at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1999 and moved to Sarasota, Fl, and was a UAW Committeeman. Karl volunteered for many youth organizations; Boy Scouts, Big Brother, 4H Horse Program, Rebel Riders Horse Club & Marine Corp Toys For Tots. He was very active in the Republican Party in NY. He owned Forget-Me-Not Antiques in NY and was owner with his wife of Menagerie Antiques in Camden, SC for the last 10 years.
Karl is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Connie James Beccue; his sister, Patricia Robertson; and a sister in law Patricia Stolzenberg; Also, Art and Claire Ackerman, their children, Eric Ackerman & Melissa Rizzo and their children were lifetime friends, but loved like family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
