LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of The Rev. Benjamin Keith Thompson, 42, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to: Ritchie and David’s Education Fund, C/O Powers Funeral Home, PO Box 65, Lugoff, SC 29078. Keith passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of Carlos Benjamin Thompson and Wanda Kay Asbill Thompson-Hall. He was a 1996 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Charleston Southern University and Masters’ Degrees in Missions and Educational Leadership from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Keith served the Lord as a pastor and missionary and most recently worked as a senior construction engineering inspector for S&ME. Surviving are his wife, Michelle Kay Fountain Thompson; sons, Richard Benjamin Thompson and David Jonathan Thompson; father, Ben Thompson (Trisha); mother, Wanda Thompson-Hall (Ted); brother, Michael Thompson (Beth); and maternal grandfather, Roy Asbill. He was predeceased by maternal grandmother, Agnes Asbill; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson.
