CAMDEN – A Funeral Service to honor the life of Barbara O. Brazell, 72, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Teddy Elliott, Bobby Young, Mark Tryon, Jamie Owens, Charles Owens Jr., Shay Owens, and Jason Owens will serve as pallbearers for the family. On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Mrs. Brazell departed this world to join her beloved daughter in their heavenly home. Mrs. Brazell, the wife of Jesse F. Brazell, was the daughter of the late Earnest Clyde and Melita Baker Owens. Besides her husband of 53 ½ years, Mrs. Brazell is survived by her sons, Jesse “Frankie” Brazell (Tina) of Camden, Christopher Brazell of Columbia; grandsons, Trey, Ryan, Drew, and Zack Brazell, Eric and Nick Bogart; brothers, Jack Owens (Barbara) of Lake Wateree, Stan Owens of Camden, Charles Owens (Anne) of Camden, Clayton Owens (Bonnie) of Camden; sisters, Sue Neal of Houston, TX, and Miriam Tryon (Bob) of Summerville. Mrs. Brazell was predeceased by her daughter, Janet Bogart; sisters, Iva Lee Elliott and Margie Young; and a brother, Wayne Owens. Barbara was a lifelong member of DeKalb Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the senior citizens, senior ladies class, WMU, and Sunday School secretary. She loved her church and never missed a service while she was able to attend. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all of her family.
