Obituary of Cleophis Favor
LUGOFF-On Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 4:00 a.m., Cleophis Favor, loving husband and father of six, departed this life at the age of 68. Cleophis Favor entered this life on April 7, 1952 to the late, Genubeth and Lela Bell Favor. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Burial will be held Monday, June 15 at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
Cleophis loved God and at an early age he gave his life to Christ. He was dedicated to the ministry and heeded God’s call on his life to walk in the ministry. On January 12, 1984 Cleophis was ordained as a minister in the Church of God of Prophecy. Minister Favor worked as a lay minister preaching and publishing the gospel until he was appointed as the pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Cassatt, South Carolina in 1993. He served as pastor for many years. After his service as pastor, Cleophis Favor became a member of Ray of Hope Outreach Ministries where Russell Galloway is the pastor. He served as the assistant pastor until the time of his homegoing.
Cleophis was a master carpenter and loved to work with his hands. He was an entrepreneur and opened a thrift store in Camden, South Carolina. He used his business to introduce and bring many to the Lord. He was a caring man and gave more to the people that entered the store than selling to them. He did not want to burden people in need, and he purposed to be a help to those that entered the doors of his business.
Cleophis is preceded in death by his father, Genubeth Favor, mother, Lela Bell Favor, brothers Herbert and Genubeth Favor, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Etta McGee. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Paula Favor; daughters, Anne Favor Dubose (Bernard), Umeko Favor; sons, Pastor Jeremy Favor; Cleophis Favor, Jr. (Rebecca); step-daughter, Whitney Broadnax; step-son, Christopher Broadnax; brothers, Frank Favor (Rebecca), Jerry Favor; sister, Shirley Favor; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jr., Paris, Kayden, Cavonta, Aries; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
