CASSATT – Funeral service for Herman Dennis Smith, 69, will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Mr. Smith passed away at home on Monday, July 6, 2020. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Roy G. and Gladys Ruth Brock Smith. He retired from Duke Energy and later retired from Florence Darlington Technical College where he was a welding instructor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and welding. Surviving are his daughter, Donna Martin (Chris); sons, Bryon McClain and Greg McClain (Cindy); sisters, Mary Ashley and Alice Areheart (Carroll); 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
