LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Charles Lloyd “Rick” McBride, 66, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Casey Mills will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Hope Food Bank, The American Cancer Society, Abby Road Hospice, or the Agape Hospice House. Mr. McBride passed away Tuesday, December 03, 2013. Born in Savannah, Ga., he was the son of the late Sammy McBride and Dessie Mae Lynch Hall. Mr. McBride served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, and was a volunteer with the forest service. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Grace Johnston McBride; daughters, Kimberly Phillips (Larry) of Lexington, Rebecca Thrall (Jerry) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Jared Huggins, Nicholas Huggins, and Jacob Thrall; a sister, JoAnn Lawson (Gary); brother-in-law, Marvin German; niece, Gina German Marthers (Jerry); and a nephew, Martin German.
