DAZELL – A funeral service for Jonathan Burnett Stewart, 49, will be held Friday, November 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John United Methodist Church, Rembert, S.C. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Frances King will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John UMC, c/o Karen White, 3480 Leach Drive, Sumter, S.C. 29154 or Kershaw County Emergency Services.
Jonathan passed away Monday, November 2, 2020. Born October 29, 1971 in Darlington, he was a son of Lige and Gloria Blackwell Stewart. Jonathan was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He served the residents of Kershaw County for over 20 years as a Kershaw County Paramedic. He enjoyed collecting toys, painting models, and music.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Julia “Rose” McClary Stewart; sons, Jonathan “Nathan” Stewart of Camden, SN Evan Stewart (Coast Guard), of Sturgeon Bay, WI; parents, Lige and Gloria Stewart; sister, Jennifer Oliver (Hal) of Hartsville; step-brother, Mark Stewart of Hartsville; and mother and father-in-law, Marion and Deborah McClary. He was predeceased by a step-brother, Paul Stewart.
