CAMDEN – Funeral service for Ruth Gertrude Blunt Meshach, 72, will be held Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Phil McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 3:30-5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A reception will follow the service at Rowan Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be held in Hainesburg, N.J. Memorials may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church in Lugoff, S.C., or First Presbyterian Church in Blairstown, N.J. or the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter in Camden, S.C. Mrs. Meshach died Wednesday, November 07, 2012. Born in Montclair, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Gertrude A. “Cron” and Charles J. Blunt. She had lived in Yellow Frame, N.J., Blairstown, N.J., and Hardwick Township, N.J. before moving to Lugoff in 2009. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown, N.J. since 1952 where she was a past deacon and Sunday School teacher. She was currently attending Rowan Presbyterian Church in Lugoff, S.C. Mrs. Meshach worked many years at Martha Washington Tea Room and Press Publications and was a member of Bill W’s fellowship since 1976. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Robert F. Meshach; sons, Joseph R. Meshach of Walterboro, S.C. and Ernest B. Meshach of Elgin, S.C. grandchildren, Josh Meshach of Columbia, S.C., Zeke Meshach of Elgin, S.C., Hanna Meshach of Raleigh, N.C., Jennifer Meshach of Walterboro, S.C., Abbie Meshach of Brandon, Miss..; step-grandson, Emerson Felton of Elgin, S.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, C. David Blunt.
