Obituary of Sidney Zemp Ellis, Jr.

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Sidney Zemp Ellis, Jr., 72, will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorials may be made to American Lung Association.

    Mr. Ellis passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Sidney Zemp Ellis, Sr. and Delptha Threatt Ellis.  He served in the United States Air Force and retired from DuPont.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 17.  Mr. Ellis enjoyed fishing and reading. 

     Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Linda Hall Ellis; son, Chip Ellis (Traci) of Camden; daughter, Misty Ellis Shaffer (Scott) of Camden; brother, Keith Ellis (Trish); and sisters, Cecilia Burns and Karen O’Neal (Robbie); grandchildren, DeAnna Ellis, Mitch Henderson, Stephen Napper, C.J. Ellis, McKinley Henderson, Sydnie Shaffer and Weston Shaffer; 3 great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Margaret Hall.
