LUGOFF – Funeral service for Nona Pearl Harwell Ray, 74, will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Ray, wife of the late Pete Ray, died Monday, December 16, 2013. Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Donald Winston and Mary Elizabeth Watson Harwell. She was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church. Surviving are her sons, Donald Stephen Flewellen Sr. of Stuart, Fla. and Marvin Christopher Flewellen of Kelso, Tenn.; stepson, Peter G. Ray (Vicky) of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Hilda Harwell of Camden; grandchildren, Kristen Denise Flewellen, Donald Stephen Flewellen, Austin Casey Flewellen and Edward Sellian Flewellen; step-grandson, Jeremy Ray; and a great-grandson, Jackson Nicholas Reed. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Marvin Harwell, Sr.
