Obituary of Jeannine B. Harris

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Margaret Jeannine Burch Harris, 91, will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Due to COVID 19 mask will be required at the service.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church for those that wish to visit.

    Mrs. Harris, wife of the late Sammie Harris, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2020.  Born in Elizabeth City County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Nora Ella Whaley Burch.  She was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Joy Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching and sitting on the porch swinging.  Mrs. Harris was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

    Surviving are her daughters, Neena Hill Fortune (David) of Raleigh, N.C. and Elaine Hill McCafferty (Frank) of Lugoff; 7 grandchildren, Carly Fortune Redding (Dan), Lindsay Fortune Felker (Charlie), Nicholas Fortune (Ciara), Phillip McCafferty, Laci McCafferty Corley (Brennen), Abbey Brinson Ray (Thomas), and Hailey Brinson; and 6 great-grandchildren, Elliott and Charlotte Felker, Callahan and Darby Fortune, Mills Corley, and Dylan Redding; and her beloved white schnauzer, Zoey.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Heddla V. Hill; and a daughter, Kelley Hill Brinson.
