Obituary of Anita Delores Hunter

CAMDEN – Graveside service for Anita Delores Hunter, 73, will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Matthews United Methodist Church Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held on Thursday from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

    Mrs. Hunter, wife of the late William Larry Hunter, passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2021.  Born in Rembert, she was the daughter of the late Buddy Haynesworth and Pearlee Boykin Sumpter.  She was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel.  She enjoyed cooking and sitting outside.

     Surviving are her children, Juliette Flowers of Rembert, Reginald Carter of Camden, Diane Carter of Camden, Sholonda Carter of Camden, William Gerard Hunter of Camden and Germaine Hunter of Camden; siblings, Henry Lee Sumpter, Herbert Boykin (Lillie Mae), Howard Sumpter (Mable), Suedell Dixon (Levi), Edward Sumpter (Renda) and Andrew Sumpter; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
